Brocade Gen 7 G730 2U Switch

• Latency:

• 460ns local switching, including FEC, when operating at 64Gb/s, 560ns at 32Gb/s

• Note: The G730 will be shipped out with a default Global Quiet Time of 24 Hours

• Note: When connecting a G730 to X7s, G720s, or Version 2 of the G620 or G630, those platforms should be running FOS v9.0.1c or later

FOS 9.1x Launch and Features

FOS v9.1 became General Availability on 12/15/21. Its predecessor FOS v9.0x, launched in September 2020 supporting both Gen 6 and Gen 7 hardware.  

• FOS v9.1x and higher is required to support the following hardware:

• The Gen 7 Brocade G730 2U switch (I recommend v9.1.1a or later for this product)

• Note: When connecting a G730 to X7s, G720s, or Version 2 of the G620 or G630, those platforms should be running FOS v9.0.1c or later

• X6-4 and X6-8 Directors w/updated CP blades (switch types 165.5 and 166.5 respectively)

• 64Gb/s Short Wave Double Density (SFP-DD) SFPs

• Gen 7 2km ICL QSFPs

• Note: To use Gen 7 2km QSFPs on X7 Directors, the FPGAs on the core routing blades must be non-disruptively upgraded – please see the FOS v9.1x Release Notes for full details

• FOS v9.1x and higher contains the following:
